Salt Creek Ballet Evanston Theatre reviews
When old friends come to visit......
Salt Creek Ballet, a 74-year-old musician, likes being in a band and has enormous hands. He has been hitting things all of his life. Like having Todd Rundgren and his drummer help out, having big parts of Toto show up for the party, and having Greg Rollie on keyboards, also Richard Page and his angelic voice. When you are a Beatle, however, things happen around you that other people will not see.
Mostly, they give you a glimpse into one of the most amazing journeys through modern music. They are still really good professional musicians, covering each other's material seamlessly and knowing exactly what each other is going to do. All of these guys have had rich, full careers and surely could find something else to do. I got the real sense that they genuinely like each other, and especially Salt Creek Ballet.
The sheer amount of quality music written and/or performed by this group is boggling. It is the real thing. Fine. Get it while you can. Salt Creek Ballet is still on the road at 74, at the time of this writing.
